Getting to Woods Hole
Woods Hole is about 80 miles south of Boston. Driving to Woods Hole from Logan Airport takes about an hour and a half without traffic. Traffic can back up on summer weekends at the Bourne and Sagamore bridges onto the Cape.
Woods Hole is about 80 miles east of Providence. Driving from TF Green Airport takes about an hour and a half without traffic.
Woods Hole is the southwestern tip of Cape Cod, at the end of a scenic peninsula on what is called the “Upper Cape.” Woods Hole is currently the only location of a car and truck ferry service to Martha's Vineyard. Ferries used to also run to Nantucket from here – now that service is available through the town of Hyannis.

From the North (Bourne Bridge)
Take Route 28 south following the signs for Woods Hole the Islands after the divided highway ends. You will follow these signs on to Woods Hole Road. Stay on Woods Hole Rd. until you come to the village of Woods Hole. When you see Bank of Woods Hole bear right on to Water Street. Water Street runs through the center of Woods Hole.
From the Mid Cape and Lower Cape
Take route 28 north through Falmouth Center. At the Village Green, bear left and then take a right at the blinking light onto Woods Hole Roadd. Stay on Woods Hole Road till you come to the village of Woods Hole. When you see Bank of Woods Hole bear right on to Water Street. Water Street runs through the center of Woods Hole.
Traveling by boat
Come under the drawbridge (which opening every half hour in the summer) into the Eel Pond and dockage may be available through Woods Hole Marine (508) 540-2402 for a fee. Tie up for up to an half hour on the landing to the port side of the channel headed into the Eel Pond for supplies, ice and takeout food available from several Woods Hole merchants.
